The Warrior Canine Connection is a non-profit organization that helps veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress and brain injuries train service dogs for other veterans. Warrior Canine Connection utilizes a Mission Based Trauma Recovery model to help recovering Warriors reconnect with life, their families, their communities, and each other. Today, Rachann talks with Mare Lyfeld, assistant director of the Mission Based Trauma Recovery Program, about the service dogs, from birth at their Healing Quarters in Boyds, Maryland, through their training and placement with a recovering veteran.
